Underfloor heating is an increasingly popular choice for many households and can be a great addition to your home. Suited to nearly every room and floor type, underfloor heating operates at a lower temperature than radiators. It distributes heat evenly and works particularly well with heat pumps, however, this technology can be connected to any heat source.

It is advisable to check with the manufacturer that the floor coverings are suitable for use with underfloor heating, there are many options that can be used, including:
Carpet: Carpet is effective with underfloor heating but only where the combined tog value of carpet and underlay is a maximum of 2.5 tog. (The underlay must be suitable for underfloor heating).
Tiles: Underfloor heating works well with stone, ceramic or porcelain floor tiles however as tiles move with the heating and cooling process a decoupling membrane, flexible adhesive and grout is required to absorb the subtle movement.
Engineered Wood: Engineered wood floors allow for the expansion and contraction as the floor heats up and cools down. This floor covering is best laid with a flexible adhesive for maximum heat transfer.
To extend the life of your underfloor heating system, and ensure your system is working at maximum efficiency, an annual service is recommended to ensure year round, worry free protection.
